The Netgear WPN824 uses RangeMax technology to dramatically increase the coverage area of the wireless router. It will automatically adjust the signal to cope with the size, shape and barriers (such as walls) of your house or office. Therefore you can enjoy a good signal no matter without the need for a range externder or repeater.
There are 7 internal antennas in the Netgear WPN824. The wireless router will automatically adjust to optimise the coverage of the network and avoid interference and barriers. It comes with Smart MIMO technology to remove dead-spots and drop outs. The speed and coverage of the WPN824 is up to 10 times better then standard Wireless G (802.11g) routers.
If you use the recommended Rangemax client adapters, the coverage is extended to a reported 500,000 square feet. According to Netgear, this is the longest range of any wireless device on the market.
As with all Netgear wireless routers, security is at the heart of the WPN824. It has a built in double firewall, WEP encryption, WPA-PSK, NAT (Network Address Translation - hides PCs from outside users), SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection - denies outside attempts for personal info) and more.
The WPN824 is very easy to setup and comes with installation CD. It includes the Netgear Smart Wizard to guide you through the setup and will automatically find your ISP's settings.
